Wonderful Warwick!

It was another busy day both at Earls Hall itself as well as on the Year Six residential.

The children in Year Two enjoyed a fantastic ‘Forest Friends’ session where they used the fire pit which was made last week to make elderflower potions and perfumes as well as playing games of naughts and crosses. In Beech the children also worked outside to conduct a minibeast survey, hunting under logs in the outside areas of school.

The children from Year Six who decided to stay in Westcliff enjoyed a wonderful day out today at David Lloyds! The children were really given the VIP treatment by the team and used a range of fitness equipment and the pool throughout their visit. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special.

Meanwhile on the residential trip the children started the day with a full breakfast, choosing from the wide menu. The boys ate first and so had time for a canal walk whilst the girls enjoyed tucking in. After that the whole group headed off to Warwick Castle where they enjoyed a fantastic day out! They watched a bird of prey demonstration, walked the walls of the castle, visited the dungeon, the great hall and various underground rooms filled with wax works of historical scenes. It was a great day.

Later the children enjoyed dinner at the Playbox theatre before being treated to a fantastic exclusive performance of the play ‘The Story of the Jaguar and the Old Old World’.

The play showed thst world is changing, the trees are falling and somewhere from within the heart of The Rainforest, The Jaguar calls upon one brave little boy to face his ultimate challenges and fears, and save us!

Part interactive workshop, part performance, the show brought to life vital issues around environmental change for the children and asked them to think about human behaviour towards the world around them and what they can do to ensure a positive future relationship with it. A great time was had by all.
