The Return of Sports Day!

It was a momentous occasion today at Earls Hall as we held the first two of seven sports days taking place across a huge week of celebrating sport! The children from Year Two kicked off proceedings with each class hosting their own series of races in separate areas of the field. In order to take account of covid restrictions, parents were placed in set seats with groups no larger than thirty but their positions meant that everybody had a great view of the track and could see the children take part in flat, skipping, obstacle and egg and spoon races from a distance.

Likewise, in the afternoon, the children from Year Three took to the track in a similar fashion with all of our historic houses being represented by the children donning their respective colours. Children represented Arundel, Warwick, Oxford and Norfolk with the scores for each house being tallied up and going towards the final total at the end of the week. There were even opportunities for parents to get involved by racing against each other from within their various bubbles and with eggs and spoons being sanitised between races!

At the end of each session the children enjoyed ice cream from our new ice cream machine and there was even the opportunity for the parents to enjoy a 99 too.

Meanwhile, in Year Six the children put the finishing touches to their Tudor cushions whilst the children from Rabbits and Dormice enjoyed their first sessions over in the pool.
