It was an amazingly hot day today which saw a host of children enjoy the sunny weather outside. The children in Kites investigated the school grounds which saw them learn about the parts and purposes of flowering plants. Once they had identified them, they took time to draw some observational sketches of their favourite plants.

Meanwhile, out in the woods, the children in Rabbits took part in a Forest Friends session where they made their own perfumes and dens for small woodland toys. They worked in teams to forage for natural objects, such as leaves and twigs, and arranged them into structures which could house each creature in turn.

Whilst the children in the |Foundation Stage enjoyed learning through play in the Early Years garden, the children in Foxes took part in a circle time session with Mr B. The session focused on being unique, one of the school qualities which we celebrate, and the children gave examples of what was unique about them before thinking about ways in which we can respect each others qualities and choices so that we all feel comfortable being ourselves.

As the children in 6C continued to sew their Tudor cushions, the children in Badgers and Owls took part in their first of four lessons this week over in the pool where Mr Knight put them through their paces in the water.

After school Mrs Smoothy hosted the first of her athletics clubs for children in KS1whilst, in the downstairs hall, we saw the return of reptile club.
