Three Cheers for Chase!

It was an exciting day for the children in Year Five today as they ventured out of school and paid a visit to our friends at Chase High. The children worked in their existing bubbles, distanced from the pupils at the high school, and took part in a series of taster lessons throughout the day. There was time to visit the food technology rooms, take part in English, History and Science lessons as well as sessions over on the astro turf where they took part in a PE lesson. At lunchtime the children were entertained and all three classes came back to school buzzing about their day. Thank you to everyone at Chase High who went above and beyond to make sure the day was enjoyable but safe at the same time.

Back at Earls Hall, the children in Kites went out onto the playground in order to develop their ability to give and follow directions using language such as quarter turn, half turn, 90 degrees, 180 degrees, clockwise and anticlockwise. They also took part in an experiment where they were planting and monitoring beans in order to see if they grow under different conditions.

There were more experiments taking place in 6C as the children monitored the affect of exercise on their heart rates.

As the downstairs hall played host to more ‘Rock Steady Workshop’ band lessons, the children in Rabbits took part in a Forest Friends session outside where they went on a minibeasts hunt and played a series of minibeast themed games.
