Technicoloured Dream Performance!

What a fantastic day we have had at Earls Hall today! The day started with Mr Geach leading assembly in KS1 where he shared the story of ‘The Snail & The Whale’ and linked its events to the various places the children might be going to over the Easter holiday.

Throughout the day there was plenty of activity taking place across the school. Our Year Four children continued to develop their Viking Ships by constructing the shape of the ship from its cardboard net and decorating it with shields and flags whilst the children in squirrels developed their throwing, catching and passing skills in a fun PE lesson in the downstairs hall. In the ‘Forest Friends’ area the children in Year Two played team games based around a Spring and Easter theme whilst in Elm the children translated shapes. In Dormice the children completed puzzles and then independently wrote signs spontaneously warning other children not to break them apart until Miss Toms had taken a photo of their achievements. They also used their imaginations in the creative area to make scenes such as a dolphin hospital out of cardboard boxes! Meanwhile, upstairs in 6C, the children wrote their own play scripts based on the story of Rose Blanche and the perspective of a German child in WWII.

The highlight of the day was the fantastic Year Five production of ‘Joseph & His Technicoloured Dreamcoat’ which they performed brilliantly three times throughout the day. In the morning the children from Year Two to Six were dazzled by their performance before parents and other family members were amazed in the afternoon and evening.

The children performed with such confidence, singing and dancing their way through the story of Joseph and his dreams, and were quite rightly rewarded with a huge cheer and round of applause at the end of each show. we really couldn’t be prouder of you children!
