Our day had an Easter theme today. The morning started with Mrs Heard telling the Easter story in the KS1 assembly followed by Mr B going into a deeper explanation of the same story in the following KS2 assembly.

Our Year One children had an ‘egg-static’ time in their ‘Forest Friends’ sessions as they took part in several team games with egg themes. The children worked in groups to find a series of eggs around the forest, following clues to hunt down all of the eggs before finally finding a hidden sheep at the end of the trail. They had to listen to each others ideas and opinions to hunt down the eggs. They also worked in teams when taking part in an egg and spoon race on the green.

In Foxes the children made Easter cards whilst in Year Five the children also made cards, this time of a Victorian variety. Meanwhile, downstairs, rabbits enjoyed a library session where they had time to read books for pleasure and Owls developed their throwing and catching skills outside on the playground by playing a series of games.

Lunchtime saw Mrs Hardy and her merry crew serve up a tasty roast chicken lunch. The glorious weather saw the children take to the climbing equipment, taking turns to ensure everyone had their fair share of time on each piece.

In the afternoon and after school the children in KS2 enjoyed a fab Easter disco courtesy of the sounds of Micky B and his wheels of steel! Our dancers took part in dancing competitions and displayed some impressive, and at times extraordinary, moves. There were robotics on show, caterpillars on the floor and the odd display of splits! a great time was had by all and the children’s behaviour was excellent.
