The beautiful sunshine meant that there was plenty of glorious action on the field today! At playtime the children in KS2 loved exploring the new outside musical equipment whilst others used the climbing equipment, played on the field or simply relaxed and chatted at the tables.
Over in the pool, the children in Kites enjoyed the first of the Year Three ‘Fun Swim’ sessions where they played with the toys in the pool as a reward for winning the attendance race last term. Well done Year Three, we are proud of you!
Meanwhile, the children in our Year Four classes ventured out of school in order to visit the local Synagogue. After walking the journey to the Synagogue the children were met by Mr Greenstein who showed them the various parts of the building and explained their significance and how they are used as part of Jewish worship. He showed them the Torah scrolls and the Arc and explained how Jewish people use the building as part of their everyday practice. Thank you to everyone who helped the children at the Synagogue for once again making us feel so welcome.
In Year One the children put the finishing touches to their modroc farm models whilst in Hawks the children created their own Egyptian landscape pictures using a mixture of collage techniques. Out on the field the children in 6J enjoyed a game of rounders whilst the children in Kestrels developed their standing long jump techniques with Mr Martin.
At the end of the afternoon Mr B enjoyed listening to some enthusiastic readers in his office; today from Robins and Dormice. He was thrilled with their decoding skills! After school the children in the Foundation Stage and KS1 ‘Drama Club’ acted out fairground rides, the children Mrs Smoothy’s ‘Running Club’ developed their sprinting skills on the track whilst there was ‘Tennis Club’, netball and rounders all also taking place.
