It was a day of musical magic at Earls Hall today! Throughout the day there was much excitement out on the field as Mr Gheorge and Mr Town put the finishing touches to the installation of our new musical play equipment. The four instruments out on the field will give the children in KS2 the opportunity to show their creative sides by making music at playtime and will be ready for our budding musicians to use from tomorrow.
The musical theme continued in the afternoon as the ‘Forest room’ played host to more sessions of our ‘Rock Steady Workshops’. Phil taught the children more skills when playing the drums, keyboards, electric and bass guitar alongside vocals in a band setting and the sounds wafting their way down the corridor were pretty impressive!
Meanwhile, down in the Foundation Stage, the children enjoyed writing independently both in the classroom and outside in the Early Years garden. The weather was so beautiful that there were plenty of children developing their skipping and cycling skills outside whilst others made their own calming lavender dough in groups.
Out on the field the children in Oak developed their throwing skills with Mr Smith with some pretty impressive distances being thrown!
