It was a glorious day which saw the children enjoying spending lots of time outside! Throughout the day the children in Year Four took part in ‘Forest Friends’ sessions where they investigated different plants in the grounds and created their own information booklets for the younger children to read. There was also plenty of time for the children to take part in a series of team games.
Meanwhile, in the pool, the children from the Foundation Stage classes amazed the swimming team with their increasing confidence in the water whilst the children in willow played games of quick cricket on the field. the children in Year One developed their sprinting skills on the tracks whilst the children in Kites undertook a series of obstacle and relay challenges with Mr Smith. Mr Gheorge and Mr Town, our brilliant site team, have been busy recently building planters for the playground and today a group of children from Year Four helped Mr Town and Mrs Minney to plant them up and water the plants around the playground.
Inside, the children in Sycamore enjoyed a calm painting lesson where they used brushes of different sizes in order to create paintings of Rainforest creatures whilst Mr B listened to another group of enthusiastic readers; today from Squirrels. Mr B was really impressed with their progress! Well done children, we are proud of you!
After school our ‘Bowls Club’ enjoyed an hour at Prittlewell Bowls Club where they adapted their game in order to play on the grass rather than the usual carpet. Watched by proud parents and other family members, the children enjoyed a very calm game and behaved beautifully throughout the session.
