The smell of paint was wafting through the upper corridor this afternoon as many of the classes took part in artistic activities.

6C were creating the cardboard sets in preparation for their next animated films whilst 6B carefully painted large versions of their propaganda posters.

In Hawks the children studied their cave art designs and then carefully painted them onto stones using thin brushes. Earlier in the day the children prepared presentations about the Stone Age, concentrating on presenting their findings as a team and projecting their voices.

In Elm the children scored and cut card in order to make a sliding picture to insert into their pop up books. Each page comes to life as a result of their fantastic DT skills!

In the downstairs hall Mrs Stokes led an inspiring dance lesson with Owls. The children followed a routine to the soundtrack of ‘Hello’ by Adele before using the song to choreograph their own sequence of moves.

In Squirrels there was needle and thread action as the children created outlines of boats using a running stitch.

At the end of the day a group of children from Owls were thrilled to be chosen to act as an audience in the hall as they were entertained by George from Sycamore who played the piano for them. The audience were amazed by how competently he played and announced that they thought that he should enter ‘Britain’s Got Talent’!
