TIE DYE & TEAM GAMES!

Team spirit was in the air this afternoon as the children across KS2 worked together on a series of activities.

Mr Smith oversaw a great session of netball outside on the playground where the children from Beech worked together to pass and shoot the ball with skill and expertise.

Meanwhile, back inside, Willow developed their creative skills by creating tie-dye willow pattern plates. The children had previously created their own tie-dye patterns by using elastic bands to block the dye as they dipped it. They designed their own patterns and pictures to transfer onto the material and sketched it with pencil. This afternoon they used the pencil outline as an outline to stitch the pattern using needle and thread and the classroom was as quiet as a mouse as they did so!

In 6J the children were busy making cardboard sets of houses which will form the settings for their next animated movies and at the end of the day children from across Years Five and Six visited Rodney the rabbit. Groups of children spent time with him throughout the day and at lunchtime in a bid to gradually help him get used to his new surroundings and playmates.
