It was another day full of outdoor learning activities at Earls Hall today! The crisp Autumn air acted as the perfect backdrop for the children in Kites as they investigated the trees in the back forest. The children estimated and measured the heights and age of the trees and also created their own works of art inspired by the work of Andy Goldsworthy.

Meanwhile, in the woods at the front of the school, the children in Kestrels used their Forest Friends session to get creative! The children created their own wooden badges, decorated with their individual FF name. They also used wood and wool in order to create their own poppies to mark Remembrance Day. Team work was also a theme of the day as the children created their own obstacle courses for others to follow before clearing some of the forest of leaves and playing on the rope swing.

The children in Year Five enjoyed an active day full of fitness! In the upstairs hall they followed routes around the hall and moved their bodies in different ways whilst doing so as if they were travelling through space and landing on the moon! Later on they took to the playground to develop their own running and throwing skills so it was a pretty active day!

There was plenty of activity in the Foundation Stage classes as the children enjoyed learning through play both indoors and in the Early Years garden. Meanwhile whilst the children in Sycamore enjoyed a drama lesson outside on the playground, inside, the children in 6C put the finishing touches to their individual wooden shelters whilst a group of children from Hawks visited the goats.

Throughout the morning individual children took part in music lessons. Mr Brown welcomed his first guitarists of the year who undertook their lessons in the new music room which enables him to teach from a safe distance and with the aid of a clear Perspex screen between himself and the musicians.
