There was a firework theme across many parts of the school today as the children got into the spirit of Bonfire Night! Many classes across KS1 created their own firework works of art using paints, pastels and chalks. The children smudged with their hands, painted with their fingers, flicked with brushes and scarped with forks in order to create some stunning pictures.

Meanwhile the Foundation Stage classes were a hive of activity! Some of the children had fun junk modelling whilst others enjoyed playing outside. Today the adults supervised the climbing frame as the children thought of different ways to travel across, on and off of it with increasing levels of confidence.

Whilst the lovely Miss Childs carried out parent conferences on the phone or zoom, in Aspen the children enjoyed a fun Maths lesson where the children were reading scales.  It was a really practical session, where pupils halved and added water to a measuring cylinder in groups of the three and four . The accuracy and collaboration was excellent and not a drop was spilt.

In the afternoon, the children in Sycamore started to learn about the Greeks whilst the children in Hawks created their own firework safety posters and 6J and 6M put the finishing touches to their wooden shelters.
