It was fantastic to see the children back today after the half term break! It was a busy day for the children in Rabbits as they enjoyed a Forest Friends session which saw them developing their knot tying skills. The children toed knots as individuals and then used the skills when making small shelters for Sparky the dragon. There was also the opportunity for the children to investigate the Autumn leaves around the Magic Tree. There was more Autumn fun outside as the children in Squirrels went on a sorting and classifying Autumn walk on the field. The children were challenged to match fallen leaves before sorting them and finding the host tree that they had fallen from.

Meanwhile, also outside, the children in 6C and 6J enjoyed their first lesson learning about Rivers. They investigated how rivers form using a foil tray and sand. In teams they recreated a prototype river to investigate how the channels are formed as the sand is eroded by the water.

Inside, the children in Owls shared firework safety messages by designing posters and many children in Woodpeckers and Squirrels were presented with their bronze ‘Reading Champions’ badges in recognition of the efforts they had put into reading at home. Well done children, we are proud of you!
