The sound of music once again filled the air at Earls Hall this morning as we held our third, and final, ‘Music Review’ in the upstairs hall! This mornings sessions celebrated the musical efforts of the individual learners from across Year Four and saw our children perform pieces on the piano, guitar and drums. The progress that all of the children have made in their craft was impressive and there was even an added highlight when, having just performed on the piano, Amabel stood and sang the most pitch perfect solo as Mr Thompson accompanied her on the piano. It was the perfect way to start the morning. Thanks to all of the parents who came along to help celebrate and to all of the children who took part, we are proud of you!

As the children in Kites developed their knot tying skills outside in Forest Friends, there was more marvellous music taking place as the children in 6C worked with Mrs Thompson in order to compose their own short pieces of music. The children created their own musical notations of their pieces on sheet music and enjoyed performing their pieces to each other. Later in the day the same children continued to share their WWII presentations from their independent enquiries.

As Miss Kelly looked after the animals with groups of children from Rabbits and Willow, the children in Foundation Stage had lots of fun in the garden. Some children took to the mud kitchen whilst others explored the large construction blocks, created large scale drawings and paintings or developed their skipping skills. Meanwhile, as the children in Sycamore once again took to the pool and the children in 6M investigated shadows, the children in Willow carried out an investigation into aerodynamics of shapes in water.
