There was a theme of an emergency taking place across the Year Two classes today as the children showed off their creative flairs as part of a Design and Technology project. Continuing to learn about the work of the emergency services, the children designed and made their own vehicles out of boxes which included ambulances, police cars and fire engines. The children carefully covered the boxes with paper before painting on the various distinctive markings of each vehicle. They then secured wheels and axels onto their vehicles, ensuring that they were able to turn in order to move along the ground. By the end of the afternoon there was a magnificent display of vehicles and the children were very satisfied with their finished pieces!

There was more creativity on show in Year Four as the children in Elm continued their work based around portraits by painting themselves in the style of Picasso. Meanwhile, in Year Three, the children set to work in creating their Stone Age museums. The children have been working on an independent enquiry where they have researched aspects of Stone Age life and have presented their findings in a variety of ways, By the end of the afternoon each of the classrooms was full of displays ready for visitors to see tomorrow.

As Miss Kelly was joined by children from Owls in order to look after the farm animals, the children in Robins took Mabel, the school dog, for a walk around the school grounds.

In the afternoon the children from Oak investigated electrical circuits whilst the children from Badgers enjoyed their final session on the field developing their ball skills with the team from Southend United.
