Hockey & Homes!

The week in school continued to be a busy one. The children in KS2 used their assembly time to think about the schools up and coming 80th anniversary celebrations. Mrs Matteucci gave the children an insight into the history of the school and even explained how both herself and Mrs Creak are former pupils themselves! The assembly helped prepare the children for the week of celebrations taking place in school when we return from the half term break.

Later in the day the children in Year One were reading sentences and learning to spot finger spaces. They had to read a sentence and chop the sentence up every time they saw a finger space. Afterwards they had to copy out the sentence below using the correct letter formation.

Meanwhile, out on the playground, the children in Aspen worked with Mr Smith in order to develop their hockey skills whilst the children in 6MC continued to create their shelters inspired by their class text; ‘Kensukes Kingdom’. In Year Two the children continued to create their collaborative large scale works of art inspired by their work on dragons!

After school the classrooms in Years One to Six were visited by a host of families as they continued to take part in ‘Learning Conferences’ with their classteachers. The sessions take  place for all children in the classes throughout the week at various times.
