Frames & Fire Breathing Dragons!

The new week in school saw the children in KS2 come together in assembly to hear about the Southend Foodbank and the work the organisation does in our community. The children thought about the feelings they would experience of they were hungry and were not sure how they would secure their next meal before discussing how if each person in school donated just one tin or packet of food for the harvest collection on Friday we would, as a school, be able to support the work of the organisation and help those in our community who need the food.

Later in the day the children in Year Two continued to be creative as they worked together in classes in order to begin creating giant fire breathing dragons out of cardboard, tin foil, paint and tissue paper.

The creativity continued in Year five as the children used their class text ‘the Witches’ in order to create framed pictures of their own witches. the children created electrical circuits which included a lit bulb and a switch to light the frame.

In Year Four the children continued to work on their underwater felt creatures whilst the children in the Foundation Stage used the ‘Forest Friends’ area to explore signs of Autumn.
