Great Grotto & Lovely Library!

It was a magical day at Earls Hall today as the children in Foundation Stage and KS1 visited Father Christmas in his wonderful grotto! Having magically appeared overnight thanks to the hard work of our PTA pixies yesterday, there was a great sense of awe and wonder as each class in turn went and saw the grotto. The walk to see the big man himself was adorned with Christmas trees, parcels, toys, lights and snow and each line of children was entertained by a series of elf helpers from Year Six. Every elf looked the part, thank you to all of the parents for sending the helpers in looking fantastic.

Father Christmas spent time chatting to each of the children before presenting them with a special gift to take home. It was a long day for our special visitor so we hope he has a rest before returning to see the children in KS2 tomorrow.

Meanwhile, as the children in Robins role played being Father Christmas and his reindeer and the children in Squirrels challenged themselves to make a paper chain the length of their classroom, Mr Geach and Mrs Creak took a group of children from Year Three to Kent Elms Library. At the library, the children met Gio who works for the library service and she told the children all about how to become a library member and what that means for them as children’s members. The children enjoyed taking part in a scavenger book hunt and then shared a variety of chapter, picture and non-fiction books. Thank you to Gio for giving us your time.
