It was the first of the two most special lunchtimes of the year today at Earls Hall as the children in the Foundation Stage and KS1 enjoyed their Christmas dinner! Mrs Warren-Hardy and her merry crew of cooks served up turkey, or quorn, with all of the trimmings and there was plenty to enjoy! The teachers and teaching assistants served the dinners to the children before sitting down and enjoying lunch with their classes whilst the kitchen crew dished up behind the serving counter. The PTA once again provided crackers for the children and the while lunch was eaten to a backing track of Christmas hits. At one point the hall was full of children all singing along to ‘Last Christmas’ whilst tucking in to their festive feast! It was a smashing meal, thank you to Mrs Warren-Hardy and her ladies for once again making it so special. Our KS2 children get to enjoy the feast next week.

Meanwhile, whilst the whole school supported the Save the Children ‘Christmas Jumper Day’, it was the turn of the children in KS2 to visit Father Christmas in his magical grotto. The children in Year Six were given the opportunity to support Father Christmas by dressing up as elves and chatting to the children as they waited their turn. Their costumes were magnificent and they did a wonderful job carrying out their roles. Thank you so much to all of the parents who sent them in dressed so beautifully as they really added a wonderful touch to an already magical setting. Father Christmas spent time talking to each child in turn before giving them a present and wishing them a merry Christmas. Thank you to Father Christmas for giving us two whole days of his time so that each and every child could see him. It has been hard work and we are really grateful. Thank you also to the PTA elves who set up the most magnificent grotto, it has been amazing!
