It was another hot and sunny day today at Earls Hall so the children in Year One decided to create their own shaded area in the continuous provision outdoor area. They hung drapes and canopies from fencing and poles in order to protect themselves from the sun as they played, with children taking turns to enjoy the dens. Children also played in the water trays, the sand pit and in the teepees. In the afternoon, the children were joined by our lovely new teacher Miss Lewis who played with them outside so that she could get to know the children who will be in Owl class next year. Miss Lewis joins us full time in September, welcome to Earls Hall!
In the afternoon, the children in Kites enjoyed their last Forest Friends of the year where they too made their own shelters in the woods, made potions using natural resources scavenged in the woods, played on the rope swing and made their own games.
It was another special day for parent partnership as we held two more of our ‘Tea with Teachers’ sessions. In the morning, parents of children who will be in Year Three next year came and introduced themselves to Mr Martin, Mr Geach, Mrs Hewitt, Mrs Stokes and Mrs Draycott over a cup of tea in the downstairs hall. In the afternoon it was the turn of parents of children who will be in Year Two next year who chatted to Miss Childs, Miss Silver and Miss Lewis. Thank you to all of the parents who came along and gave us their time.
