It was another day where the school was full of parents at Earls Hall! The morning began with the first of the days ‘Tea with Teachers’ where parents of children moving from Year Three into Year Four were able to come into the hall and introduce themselves to the adults who will be caring for their children next year. Mrs Brasted, Miss Neal, Mrs Sterling, Mrs Thelwall and Mrs Crouch were all on hand to put names to faces and get to know our families a little better. In the afternoon it was the turn of the teachers in next years Year Five classes to meet the parents over the brew and Miss Fitzgerald, Mrs Matteucci and Mrs Chapman all loved getting to know their new group of parents. Thanks to everyone who took the time to pop along.

In the evening it was one of the biggest events of the year as we opened our doors to all of our families for ‘Open Evening’. Always a must attend event in previous years, this was the first time we had been able to host the evening since the pandemic and the amount of families who came along was overwhelming- thank you! Proud parents were able to visit the classrooms and share the work of their children in their books, folders and on the wall. There was also the chance to pop along to the classroom their child will be learning in next year. It was a wonderful, if a little hot, evening. Thanks so much for everyone for taking the time to come along and celebrate the work of the children!

Earlier in the day, as groups of children from Foundation Stage and Foxes helped Miss Kelly look after the animals, the children in Aspen enjoyed their final regular Forest Friends session by taking part in a range of their favourite outdoor activities. The children made scents and perfumes from items that they had scavenged, built dens, created their own games and courses or played on the rope swing. We have occasional sessions planned to take place for the children as they move into Year Five but today was a little bit special all the same.
