FOREST FRIENDS & CONFETTI!

It has been a busy couple of days in school with fun and excitement for the children as far as the eye could see! Yesterday the children in Year Two spent their English lesson writing prospectuses to be shared with the children starting in our Foundation Stage classes in September. The children were challenged to fill their pages with key passages of information about their school day and were rightly proud of the end results!

The children in Year Three used the laptops to write up articles they had written about the environment. They worked in pairs to type their text and inserted pictures and photographs independently.

At the end of the day Miss Pezzuolo and Mr Geach spent time in the office perusing all of the entries of their ‘Wedding Bells’ competition in order to choose one overall winner. They cogitated for ages as they looked at each and every entry in detail.

Today the children in Year Four enjoyed their special ‘Forest Friends’ sessions with Mrs Mellish and Miss Chandler. The children worked in groups outside to create some stunning scarecrows to protect the allotment, took part in bird spotting and bug hunting sessions, built their own shelters and even had a go on the rope swings! A fantastic time was enjoyed by each class!

As the day went on wedding fever hit Earls Hall! The children in Year Two prepared canapes to be enjoyed at a special wedding tea and both Foxes and Rabbits decorated their classrooms to celebrate the big day of their teachers.

At lunchtime all of the team celebrated with the happy couple as part of a special surprise wedding buffet. The happy couples colleagues from across the school gave them gifts and all contributed to the spread which included a stunning wedding cake made by Miss Rees.  The blushing bride and groom were greeted with party poppers and made their way through a human archway.

At the end of the afternoon the KS1 assembly saw the children greet Mr Geach and Miss Pezzuolo with a huge cheer as they made their way down the hall aisle to the sounds of the wedding march. Mr B showed the children all the entries for the wedding competition and the children who entered from KS2 joined the younger children to explain how they had made their wonderful creations.

Mr Geach and Miss Pezzuolo explained that, in an ideal world, they would have all of the entries at their wedding but would keep them somewhere safe and cherish them always. All the children who entered were presented with a certificate and thanked by the couple for their hard work before the overall winner was announced as Amber.

As the couple and children left the hall a special dubstep version of the wedding march rang throughout the hall and the children gave the blushing bride and groom three cheers to wish them well!!!
