It was another busy day at Earls Hall today as we were once again joined by a host of parents who were all eager to learn more about the way in which we teach maths in class. Parents from Years Five and Six joined Mrs Creak in the hall where she explained how we use our maths scheme to ensure progression through sequences of lessons. The parents then joined the children in class where they were all starting a unit on fractions. The children worked with their new grown up classmates to simplify and compare fractions using their knowledge of multiples and factors. It was smashing to once again see family members in school learning alongside the children, thanks to everyone who came along.

After the heavens opened at lunchtime, the skies cleared and the children in the Foundation Stage classes were able to enjoy themselves outside in the Early Years garden. Meanwhile, in Oak, the children developed their ability to follow instructions. First, they gave each other instructions to create set pictures on whiteboards before then moving onto creating their own Roman roads.
