The start of the week in school turned out to be an exciting one for all of the children across all of the classes!

The morning started with children from across KS1 who take part in Miss Pams Dance Academy lessons each week being presented with certificates and rosettes in recognition of the progress they have made over the course of the year. The children were watched by proud parents and other family members as they took to the front of the hall to be celebrated. Well done to all of the children, we are proud of you!

There was another celebration in the KS2 assembly later in the morning as Mr B and Mr Smith congratulated the winners of their races and field events at last weeks borough sports event. The children were presented with medals and given a huge round of applause.

At the end of the assembly the children were stopped in their tracks by an excited Mrs Geach as she explained that she had received a letter addressed to them with the ‘Adventure Island’ logo on it. The children decided they would like Mrs Geach to read the letter out loud and when she did there was a rush of excitement as she explained that the team at ‘Adventure Island’ was challenging each and every class to run a stall or attraction at their very own fair! The letter explained that each class would be given a budget of £15 and would be challenged to run the stall, promote it, entice customers and then calculate the profit made on the day. The fair was announced to take place this coming Thursday!

Later in the morning the children from Foundation Stage and KS1 gathered in the hall wondering if they also had a letter. they did, but this time it was hand delivered by none other than Captain Rage himself! The Adventure Island mascot and his friend Jordan read the letter to the children and they all decided to take him up on his challenge!

As the day progressed, each class across the school began planning their attraction. Some children made accessories for their stalls whilst others created posters to advertise their attraction. Children made up dance routines to entice customers to their stall and others made up songs to sing. It was a busy day but with the fair taking place on Thursday there wasn’t much time to spare!

News of the fair may have been the conversation point of the day but that didn’t stop the children in KS1 continuing their investigations into the mysterious mound. The children in Woodpeckers continued to create their own modroc dinosaurs, having discovered a dinosaur bone in the earth, and today painted them to replicate the various types of creatures they had created.
