Fab Friday!

It was the penultimate Friday of the term and the day saw the children in Year Five become composers! Having created their advertising campaign for ‘Sploosh’ yesterday, today the children created their own jingles to accompany the written information using the glockenspiels. The children worked in groups in order to create some really catchy tunes which they then performed to each other.

Meanwhile, as a group of children from Badgers helped Miss Kelly look after the animals, the children in Elm went down to the back forest in order to arrange their finished Viking Longships. The children celebrated and evaluated their work whilst taking photos of their finished products.

In the afternoon, the children in Owls were visited by the school guinea pigs. the Cabin was a little warm for our furry friends so instead Popcorn, Saffy and Lilac had cuddles with the children in class where it was a fair bit cooler.

Our two ‘Celebration Assemblies’ saw us present ‘Earls Hall Stars’ certificates to individual children from each class in recognition of their effort and achievement. The assemblies also saw us present badges and medals to our latest ‘Reading Champions’.  At the end of the KS1 assembly, two children were identified as having been role models for the rest of the pupils and were given the prestigious job of polishing Mr B’s office. Well done to all of the children rewarded in assembly, we are proud of you!
