It was a busy morning back at Earls Hall this morning! In spite of the miserable weather, all of our animals still needed caring for and so groups of children from Dormice, Owls and Oak assisted Miss Kelly in the various enclosures. The ducks were fed and watered and our youngest helpers were thrilled and curious when they discovered an egg in the duck shed. In the hen enclosure, the hen house was cleaned out with the children hosing down the inside sections to ensure that the chickens sleep and lay in a hygienic home. Over in the goat enclosure, Gordon, Gerald and Geraldine were delighted to spend time with children after a week without masses of attention and lapped up every second of the children tending to their needs!

Meanwhile, as the children in Year One were learning about number bonds and the children in Year Three enjoyed guided reading sessions, the children in Beech and Willow took to the upstairs hall for a fun PE lesson. The children started their ‘Dance by Chance’ unit where they worked with a partner to create a sequence of moves which were generated at random by selecting digit cards.  They enjoyed presenting their moves to the class and watching how everybody had interpreted the different actions.

After school, Mrs Hanshaw hosted another arts and crafts club where children from across KS1 created their own hot air balloons.
