It was an exciting day for our team of Science Ambassadors today as they held another meeting and were presented with their new badges! The team designed the badges themselves before sending their pictures to a badge making company. Today, in our Celebration Assemblies’ they were presented with the badges whilst their roles and responsibilities were explained to the rest of the children. Each class from Years Two to Six has an elected Science Ambassador whose job it is to champion the subject in their class. Each ambassador will help monitor the teaching of Science, the children’s enjoyment of it, and help gather evidence to show that scientific knowledge progresses across the school. At their meeting, Mrs Matteucci gave the children special books to take notes in which they will bring to future meetings to prompt discussion. The scheme has got off to a great start already, well done children!

There was more pupil discussion taking place in the afternoon as Mr B met with members of the School Council where they discussed how to develop their idea of organising a ‘Bring & Buy’ sale in aid of their chosen charity, Little Havens. The children decided to create information leaflets for their friends on the computer and discussed measures to take to ensure that all of the goods sold were clean and safe to buy. It was decided that a rota of who would run the stalls would be organised at a future meeting. The sale looks set to be fantastic, well done children!

By the round window, Mr Geach and Mrs Creak met with this weeks ‘Learning Ambassadors’ where a child from each class shared with them the learning which had been taking place in their rooms throughout the past week. the children shared key vocab and skills they had learnt and developed in class and struck up a great conversation with each other. Well done children we are proud of you!

Throughout the day we held our three ‘Celebration Assemblies’ where we presented ‘Reading Champions’ badges and times table postcards to children and awarded ‘Earls Hall Stars’ certificates to individual children in each class in recognition of their effort and achievement. Well done children, we are proud of you.

After school the upstairs hall hosted an enjoyable carpet bowls club where the children developed their techniques in order to inch closer and closer to the jack.
