A Cracking start to a new Week!

It was a busy start to a brand new week at Earls Hall today! The morning saw Miss Kelly being joined by groups of children from 6J and Kites out in the animal enclosures. The children helped to feed, water and clean the goats, ducks and chicken areas whilst also having time for a play whilst they were there.

In the afternoon the children from Badgers were once again joined by the team from Southend United where they developed their football and team skills out on the playground. The children focused on the skills of dribbling whilst also mastering how to stop and kick a ball carefully using the inside of their feet.

As the children in Elm showed their creativity by designing their own gardens and the children in Hawks investigated various stones, Mr B had the pleasure of teaching in Dormice. The children enjoyed a fun numbertime session where they developed their understanding of place value before some of them went out into the Early Years Garden where they worked together to develop their physical skills. Children worked as a team to create a challenging obstacle course where they were able to move over, under and through using various parts of their bodies in imaginative ways. At the end of the afternoon the children joined together to sing along to Mr B on his guitar.

As the children in Aspen sketched portraits and the children in Willow developed their hockey skills, the children in 6J developed their understanding of light in a practical fashion. They used string to mirror beams of light and the angle it would reflect off when hitting objects.
