Year Three in the Trees!

It was a smashing day for the children in Year Kestrels ventured out of school for a wonderful trip out to Belfairs Woods. The children were able to transfer some of the skills they have developed in school whilst taking part in Forest Friends whilst at the woods. Inspired by the work of Andy Goldsworthy, the children foraged for natural items such as sticks, leaves and stones, in order to create fantastic works of art on the forest floor. There was more art on show as the children each created still life sketches of different trees in the wood, focusing on shape, size and texture. It was a great day for the children and a fun time was had by all!

Meanwhile, back in school, the children in the Foundation Stage enjoyed a handwriting workshop where they developed their fine motor and dexterity skills using tweezers, elastic bands and boards and play dough.

After school, as Miss Corder hosted another of her KS1 recorder clubs, Nicola from Clay Cottage worked with children from across KS2 in order to develop their ceramic skills.
