It was a creative start to the week for the children in Year Five today as they spent the day taking part in a whole day of art! The children took part in a series of activities which included monotype printing, investigating and taking visual notes about an artist, exploring mark making. The day saw the children linking the work to their class text ‘Holes’ and beginning to explore printing techniques. It was a fabulously fun day, and a smashing start to the week, which the children all enjoyed.

Later in the day, the downstairs hall played host to our second special ‘Reading Champions’ assemblies as groups of children from the Foundation Stage and KS1 came together to celebrate having read over two hundred and fifty times at home. The hall was fit to bursting with proud parents and other family members as they gathered to see their children presented with our prestigious special medals. Each child shook Mr B ‘s hand as they took their turn to be presented with their medal with each group from each class being given a huge round of applause. For the children in Foundation Stage it was their first time in assembly which made the occasion even more special. Thanks to all of the grown ups who came along to share such a special medal and thank you for supporting reading at home so wonderfully. Well done children, we are proud of you!
