It was another busy day in school today and one that us welcome special visitors into assembly. This morning Mrs Geach, who leads the School Council, welcomed volunteers from the Essex Air Ambulance in both our KS1 and KS2 assemblies where they talked about the work they undertake and how they help to save lives across the county. The council have chosen to support the Air ambulance team throughout the year and have so far raised money by organising a special non-uniform day so it was useful to hear what funds raised are spent on.

Later in the day the children from hedgehogs and Owls enjoyed some fun library sessions where they were able to sit back, relax and read books for pleasure whilst the children from Squirrels took to the pool for their first swimming lesson of the year.

In the afternoon a group of children from Woodpeckers joined Mr B outside in the streets in order to undertake our latest ‘AOK Club’ mission. The children, armed with a bucket of soapy water, walked down to the Carlton Avenue road sign which was covered in dirt! the children took turns to sit on Mr B ‘s shoulders to clean the sign as well as the bus stop sign further down the road. It was a wet mission which saw the children demonstrate great team work and Mr B was proud to present them with their special badges in recognition of their kindness back in school.

Throughout the day Mrs Rick, our Business Manager, worked with some of our governors in a series of monitoring exercises. Mrs Miller came into school to meet with Mr potticary from the local authority to undertake a health & safety check and then in the afternoon Mr Genovese undertook a check of the single central record.

After school our girls football team played a team from Westborough in a match which saw the final score ending at 3-0 to Westborough. Well done girls, we are proud of you!
