It was an exciting and eventful end to, what has been, a busy week in school.

A group of our Year Six children continued to spend time at Stratfprd upon Avon on their residential trip where they spent the day investigating the wonderful Warwick Castle. They scaled the towers, walked the walls, took pat in the challenge of the maze and toured the great house and cellars.

Later in the evening, after a lovely dinner, the children ventured out for a night of culture as they went to the Royal Shakespeare Company in order to enjoy a performance of ‘Romeo & Juliet’. The children behaved impeccably and made all of the adults incredibly proud.

Meanwhile, back in school, Mrs Rick collected some new chickens to join Pickles in the hen house following the death of Melody. Elsie and Georges Mum had arranged for us to take delivery of three chickens from a rescue centre whilst Amber, Samuel and Logans Great Nan- former Earls Hall teacher Mrs Gile nee White, and the parents of Ruby donated money to buy the hens. The children came over to the coop and named the hens, Meg, Rosie and Holly. The hens are a little tatty looking at the moment, with missing feathers due to their previous housing conditions, but soon settled into the enclosure and got on well with Pickles.

This morning, after a hearty breakfast, the children on the residential took part in a Shakespeare Workshop, learning the craft of acting from a variety of experienced thespians, whilst back in school there was fun on the field as the children in Year One took part in a range of track races and the children in Sycamore played a fun game of rounders. Meanwhile, a group of children from Year Six enjoyed a fun game of cricket football.
