It was an important and exciting day at Earls Hall today as the school opened its doors to the September Foundation Stage intake for the first time. The children spent time in their new classrooms with their teachers and teaching assistants, half a class at a time, where they spent time playing with their toys and each other whilst familiarising themselves with their new surroundings. Once their parents had settled them into class they popped down the community room and had a cup of tea before coming back to the classrooms to collect the children and celebrate their morning.

Later in the day the children from Foundation Stage and KS1 gathered in the hall in order to wish Mrs Stoneman a very happy birthday. Our much loved teaching assistant celebrated her 60th birthday and was presented with flowers before being serenaded by the children. Happy birthday Mrs Stoneman!

In the afternoon the children in Year Six continued to create their Tudor cushions whilst the children in Year One developed their understanding of the difference between human and physical features of a place by creating their own islands featuring a range of them.
