It was a fabulous start to another week at Earls Hall! The day saw our assemblies focus on the achievements of Emma Raducanu, looking at her journey and the growth mindset that she must have adopted in order to reach her triumph at the weekend. In the KS2 assembly, Mrs Gillard identified other inspirational people and detailed the barriers they had to overcome in order to succeed.

It was an exciting day for our new children in the Foundation Stage as they stayed at school in order to experience their first lunchtime. The children enjoyed either a hot lunch or packed lunch in the downstairs hall supported by Midday and Teaching Assistants and showed that they will get used to the lunch systems in next to no time.

Whilst the children in Kites enjoyed a fun PE session outside, the children in Year Five developed their skills as designers. Inspired by their class text, ‘The Witches’ by Roald Dahl, the children designed a Witch frame which, once made, they will enhance with lights lit by self constructed circuits. They made a series and parallel circuit and created a switch.

After school the lovely Mrs Hanshaw hosted the first of her Junk Modelling Clubs for the children in KS1. The children loved experimenting with construction toys as well as making a series of fantastic models out of boxes, cartons and other bits and pieces.
