Wheels & Waterproofs!

It was a rainy day at times today which proved to be a great opportunity for the children in Year Two as they took part in their Forest Friends sessions outside. The children investigated various materials in order to test which was the most waterproof when building their own shelters and the rain helped them no end with their tests!

Meanwhile, also outside, the children in 6M took to the surrounding roads in order to take part in their second ‘Bikeability’ session. The children developed their stopping and starting skills by the roadside and discussed road safety with bicycles.

Inside, the children in Willow used their science lesson to investigate which individual items, such as coffee and salt, dissolve whilst the children in Aspen began creating their own templates as a starting point for a stuffed felt creature project.

In the afternoon the children in KS1 were joined by volunteers from Southend High Schools for Boys sixth form who gave their time in order to listen to the children read.
