It was another fun day for the children on the Year Six residential to Stratford upon Avon. In terms of the weather, it could have been better! The rain lashed down throughout the entire day but the wet conditions certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of the children as they enjoyed a jam packed day of activity!

The morning saw the whole group head off to Warwick Castle where they enjoyed a fantastic day out! They watched a bird of prey demonstration, walked the walls of the castle, visited the great hall and various underground rooms filled with wax works of historical scenes. It was a great day which certainly saw the children get their steps in!

In the evening, after dinner at the youth hostel, the children ventured to Birmingham where they watched a production of ‘Come from Away’. Dozens of members of the public commented on the excellent behaviour of the children throughout the performance which was smashing to hear.

Meanwhile, back in Southend, it was a fantastic day for Earls Hall sport as a team of children from across KS2 represented the school at this years Southend Swimming Gala. The team were pitted against the other top schools in the borough, swimming in Group A of the competition, so it was a fierce battle to not face relegation as we were without a Year Six team as the vast majority of the children were away at the residential. The weeks of training that the children took part in certainly paid off as they represented the school brilliantly and finished in an amazinig fifth place despite being one year group down. We are SO proud of you all, well done!
