Ultimate Reading Champions!

It was an important day at Earls Hall today as a number of children from across the school celebrated a momentous achievement in style honoured fashion! Children from Foundation Stage to Year Six who have read a phenomenal two hundred and fifty times to an adult at home were presented with special medals and badges as they were given the prestigious title of ‘Ultimate Reading Champions’.

The morning began with parents and other family members gathering in the downstairs hall where they were joined by the children. Having reminded the children of the need to demonstrate the ‘Earls Hall Quality’ of being respectful whilst they all took their turns at the front of the hall, each child in turn was presented with their medal before the whole class was given a huge round of applause. Later in the morning, the children in KS1 took part in a similar assembly before it was the turn of the children in KS2 at the end of the afternoon. Thank you to all of the parents and other family members who have supported the children with their reading at home and for joining in with the celebrations today. Well done children, we are proud of you!

In the afternoon, the downstairs hall also played host to our first transition meeting for parents, this time for the families of children who will be in Year Six next year. The parents were given an overview of what they can expect for the children in September from Mrs Creak before they were given the opportunity to introduce themselves to the teachers who will be caring for their children over a cup of tea. Thanks to all of the parents who made it along for the meeting, it was lovely to see you.
