It was an adventurous start to the week as the children in all key stages were joined in assembly by our former Deputy Headteacher, the lovely Miss Ellacott, who came to tell them all about her recent challenge to follow the Inca trail and climb Machu Picchu! Miss Ellacott told the children all about her adventure in Peru, the challenges she faced, and how she had to stay determined to complete the trail which saw her climb 4200 metres to the top! The children were astounded by her challenge and it was lovely to see her back in school. Thanks Miss Ellacott for sharing the first stage of your exciting retirement plans with us.
Later, out on the field, the children in Aspen enjoyed a fun PE lesson with Mrs Crouch where they developed their jumping skills whilst, also on the field, Mr Smith played rounders with the children in Sycamore. Meanwhile, inside, the children in Hawks were learning about weather and climate in different regions. They used maps to identify where the climates were on the globe.
Downstairs, the children in the Foundation Stage wrote lists and stories about animals whilst Mr B enjoyed listening to some more fantastic readers; today from Owls. He was very impressed by the progress they had made. Well done children!
