It was a busy end to a full week at Earls Hall! The morning began with the children gathering in the hall in order to take part in our two simultaneous ‘Celebration Assemblies’. In the upstairs assembly the children were joined by representatives from Explore Learning who came along to present certificates to children who had recently taken part in their challenge. In both assemblies Mrs Crouch and Mr Geach presented ‘Earls Hall Stars’ certificates to individual children from each class in recognition of their effort and achievement. Certificates were also presented for ‘Club 24’ and ‘Times Table Rock Stars’ achievement. Well done to all of the children who were presented with certificates today, we are proud of you!

Later in the day, the children in the Foundation stage were eager to independently label pictures and write sentences about topics that they were interested in whilst, upstairs in Elm, the children were making sliders and spinners in preparation for making a pop-up book based on the Dream Snatcher which was the book they read last half term.

In the afternoon we said a fond farewell to the lovely Mrs Nicklin who retired for the second time today! Mrs Nicklin’s association with Earls Hall goes back approximately forty years, having been a classteacher before working with intervention groups in more recent years. We very much hope that Mrs Nicklin will continue to be a familiar face in school. Thank you for all of your years of hard work.

At the end of the afternoon the ‘Learning Ambassadors’ for the week met with Mrs Irwin, one of the school governors, where they shared with her the learning from across the week in all year groups. Well done children, we are proud of you!
