Terrific Tuesday!

It was a busy day for the children in Elm today as they took part in a jam packed Forest Friends session. The children created their own works of art by using natural resources from around the woods. On squares of muslin, the children collected flowers, leaves and grass and used stones to squash them ensuring that a range of colours bled onto the cloth, creating patterns and pictures. Meanwhile, other children created large scale shelters using branches and tarpaulin whilst others had fun on the rope swing. It was a fun session which was not dampened by the occasional shower.

Meanwhile, as the children in Year Two continued ot create their own figures by wrapping coils of wool around sticks, sounds of rock music echoed down the corridor as more children took part in ‘Rock Steady Workshops’. The children worked together in their bands to put the finishing touches to their musical arrangements in preparation for their concert next week.

At the end of the afternoon, we held our latest transition meeting for parents which today gave parents of children who will be in Year Four next year the opportunity to hear about curriculum arrangements from Mrs Crouch before introducing themselves to the teachers who will be caring for their children in September. Thanks to everyone who came along to say a quick hello over a cup of tea.
