It may have been a rainy start to the day but that didn’t stop the Earls Hall community once again coming out in force in order to celebrate St George’s Day! As usual, the day began with the children being greeted to the sounds of ‘Land of Hope and Glory’ and the typical English rainy weather didn’t dampen the spirit of the day. Throughout the day, children investigated the story of Saint George with the youngest children acting out the story in the Early Years garden whilst others made their own shields and dragons. In Forest Friends, the children in Elm created their own family shields, using objects from the woods and the cabin to represent symbols and pictures on the shield. Throughout the day, the teachers took the opportunity to talk about different reasons why we feel proud to live in England, whether we were born here or not. As usual the children were sent into school dressed in the spirit of the day, sporting either red, white, as princesses, knights or dragons. Thank you to everyone for making such a wonderfully patriotic effort as always!
