It was another busy day in school today. This afternoon another group of children went over to the hen house to visit our chickens. The children collected their fresh eggs, changed their food and water and had a cuddle with their feathered friends as Mrs Brock talked to them about the other ways they have to be cared for, such as providing a stimulating environment so that they don’t get bored and regularly checking them to ensure they are not losing weight or looking disheveled. Whilst the hens were being cared for, our Forest Friends sessions included a gardening focus where the children turned over the beds and checked on the progress over at the allotment.

In Elm the children were concentrating very hard to ensure their sewing skills were developing. The children continued to create felt animals by cutting around a template before sewing the panels together in the form of a running stitch. In Kestrels the children continued to learn about the Egyptians by creating their own sarcophaguses by cutting small squares and other shapes to form an elaborate pattern.

In Foxes the children have been writing their own tongue twisters and this afternoon began creating a fantastic display which will include final drafts of their work.
