It was a busy, and at times emotional, last day of the academic year as all at Earls Hall prepared for the start of the Summer holiday.

Th e morning started with the KS1 assembly where Mr B reminded the children of ways to stay safe over the holiday before the audience shared with each other some of the exciting things they planned to get up to before they return in September. Some of the children who are moving away to other schools were given three cheers by the rest of the hall as they wished their friends well in the future. The children also said a fond farewell to Mrs Soars who leaves us today. Mr B thanked her for all of her hard work and said that he very much hoped we would see her at Earls Hall again in the future.

Later in the KS2 assembly the children once again said goodbye to those children in Years Three to Five who were leaving us, some even emigrating, and Mr B asked them all about their exciting new schools. It was then time to say thank you to Mrs Elliott who is leaving her role as a teaching assistant, although staying on the team as a midday assistant, as well as Mrs Lee and Miss Hindle whose last day was today. Mr B told the children about their exciting new plans and all three were given three cheers as a way of saying thank you for their years of dedication to Earls Hall.

It was then time to say goodbye to our lovely Year Six children. Each class in turn stood up to a round of applause and then the whole year group sang ‘Believe’ which brought a tear to many an eye in the hall. The children linked arms and swayed as they sang together and then the rest of the hall gave them three cheers and wished them all the best of luck in the future.

The afternoon saw the children getting their shirts and autograph  books signed by friends and staff before going outside for group photographs. For many of the children the party continued later in the evening as they enjoyed a meal and disco at Zen City. The god times rolled for both children and parents alike and the revelers were joined by Mr B and the Year Six team, all eager to wish them well.
