It was a special day for three key members of the school today as the team held a lovely tea party for Miss Neal, Mrs Winder and Mrs Bowers as they prepared for their well earned retirements. After school, the upstairs hall played host to the retirement party where the team had all made or contributed cakes and scones to mark the occasion and the three ladies of the moment took centre stage. The party saw past and present Earls Hall staff come together to celebrate and with over eighty years of service at Earls Hall between them there were plenty of former friendly faces all eager to put in an appearance. Guests included teachers, teaching assistants, office ladies and midday assistants from the past couple of decades and former Headteachers Mrs Morris and Mr Eastwood also came along to wish the ladies well.

Miss Neal leaves us having taught at the school for the past twenty years whilst Mrs Winder has served thirty years and Mrs Bowers has been a teaching assistant for thirty two years. At the party, Mr B said a few words about each of the ladies and they were presented with gifts and flowers from their friends. It was a lovely get together which all three ladies deserved and was made all the more special by the fact that so many Earls Hallians from their time at the school joined us. Thank you to everyone who made it along. Happy retirement ladies, please don’t be strangers! Once an Earls Hallian, always an Earls Hallian!

Earlier in the day, as a group of children from Year Six helped Miss Kelly look after the animals one last time, the children in Oak spent the morning creating some stunning still life paintings in their art sketch books.

In the afternoon, the field was full of classes all enjoying lessons in the fresh air. Year Six took part in a circuit of different sporting activities whiklst Woodpeckers enjoyed their own mini sports day and Kites played parachute games.
