It was a busy start to the week for the children in Robins today as, having shown an interest in the snails out in the Early Years Garden, they decided to investigate the shelled creatures. They found some snails and brought them into class which inspired some of the children to try and create their own spirals to represent shells out of play dough. Throughout the afternoon they kept an eye on the creatures before returning them back to the garden at the end of the day. Their fascination with the creatures resulted in some of the children role playing vets whilst others searched for other creepy-crawlies as part of the Forest Friends session.

Meanwhile, in Sycamore, there was more animal themed art taking place as the children created their own paintings of a range of animals. Choosing their colours and watering them down to create the correct shade, the children painted birds, butterflies and a range of jungle pictures using the internet to find photos for reference.

Down the corridor, the children in Hawks continued to investigate shadows by compiling a series of questions and deciding upon ways in which they could be answered. As the children in Willow learnt how to state a preference in French, downstairs, some of the children in Squirrels decided to make their own stick puppets. They drew characters faces and independently secured them to paint brushes in order to make fantastic puppets.

After school Hawks classroom fell silent as the children took part in Chess Club whilst, downstairs, Mrs Hanshaw hosted another Superhero Club.
