Pupils with Planes!

It was an exciting day for the children in Year Six today as they ventured out of school in order to enjoy a full day of learning at Duxford Air Museum! At the museum, the children worked in groups and visited a number of exhibitions. They spent time in exhibitions for land warfare, the American air Museum, the Battle of Britain and the Airspace museum, where the children were able to walk through several aircrafts including the famous Concord!

As part of the day, the children were lucky enough to meet one of the volunteers, John, who told them all about his life as a child during the Blitz. He captivated the children with his tales of the war and what life was like for children like himself during the time. All in all it was a fascinating day which added to the learning which the children had already been undertaking in class.

Meanwhile, back in school, Mr Gordon led a series of group PE activities in the downstairs hall with children from Rabbits whilst, in Squirrels, children followed their own various mini enquiries. Some children used the construction tools to create their own models whilst others followed complex instructions to create moving vehicles.

Mr B spent much of his day meeting parents from 6C for a catch up chat but ended the afternoon listening to some fabulous readers in his office, today from Owls. Well done children!
