Perfect Pan!

It was a theatrical day at Earls Hall today as our soon to be departing Year Six children took to the stage on three occasions in order to perform their leavers production of ‘Peter Pan’. The children sang, acted and danced their hearts out on the stage as they told the story of Peter, the boy who never grew up and Wendy, the girl who chose to at the end of the adventure. It was a fitting theme as the play marked the end of the children’s time at our school before, now all grown up in Year Six, they leave us to move on to the adventure of secondary school.

Proud parents filled the hall which echoed with applause in appreciation of the children’s efforts. At the end of the production Keeran read a poem all about the children’s journey before the whole year group ended with ‘Believe’, a real tearjerker of a song. The play was a magnificent way for the children to take to perform at the school for one last time. Thank you to all of the children for their hard work, the team in school for their tireless efforts and to all of our lovely parents and other relatives for coming along, as always, and showing the children such wonderful amounts of support.

In the afternoon performance, Mr B presented the first of this years ‘Governors Awards’ to Fleur in recognition for the positive outlook she has always adopted throughout her seven years with us. Her cheery smile and optimistic outlook on every aspect of school life has been a joy. The award, the second of which will be presented on Friday, recognises qualities in children other than academic achievement. Well done Fleur, we are proud of you!

It was also a special day in Year Two as the team and children wished the lovely Miss Newman well as she begins her maternity leave. Miss Newman is due to welcome her second bundle of joy in the Summer and so was treated to gifts and a tea party. Good luck Miss Newman, we can’t wait to see you and your lovely baby soon.
