It was another fantastic day at Earls Hall! The day began with the children in Year Five investigating the properties of 3D shapes whilst the children in Year One continued to investigate the work of the Jolly Postman.

The children from Rabbits, Woodpeckers and Squirrels used the map which Dan the postman gave them yesterday in order to follow a route around the surrounding streets of the school. Whilst on the walk the children identified landmarks to place on the map and took photos of them to look back at when back in the classroom. Road safety was key and the children were supported by lots of helpful parents and grandparents, thanks so much for giving us your time!

Meanwhile, back in school, Mrs Cox worked with groups of children to carry out jobs with the farm animals. Gaining a sense of the responsibility needed to look after animals, the children swept out the goat enclosure and cleaned out the chickens, bantams and ducks.

Later in the day, the children in Oaks spent time in the afternoon developing their sewing skills whilst the children in Year Two used paint to create a spectrum of tones and shade.

In the evening the PTA held their annual general meeting where they reflected on their work over the previous year. Mrs Bates and Mrs Welling were re-elected as co-chairs. It was a time for celebration as the committee heard that the grand total of funds raised for the school over the previous twelve months was over £28,000! Thanks to everyone on the committee for their wonderful work and to all of our lovely families for supporting the work of the PTA!
