Outstanding Oxford!

It was a nail biting end to the day today as the school community gathered on the field at the end of our second day of sports days in the week. Following yesterdays events where our Foundation Stage and KS1 children showed off their sporting talents, today the children in KS2 took to the track in order to determine which of our four houses would be crowned champions of the overall sports day.

The morning had seen children in Years Three and Four compete in egg and spoon, sacks, obstacles and flat races whilst the children in Years Five and Six did the same after lunch. Throughout the day, Mr B shared with parents and other family members just how close the scores were, encouraging all of our children to try their very best to earn points in the races. At the end of the day, every class from school joined a host of parents on the field where our house captains lined up to hear who had won. As our traditional fanfare echoed around the school, Mr B declared that this years winning house was Oxford! A wave of blue euphoria erupted as the children from Oxford from across all year groups celebrated but it was lovely to see the other house captains accept defeat so graciously, knowing that they had all tried their best, and congratulating their triumphant friends.

Thank you to all of the parents and other family members who have supported this years sports days by cheering on the children and even taking part in the adult races, we hope that you have enjoyed yourselves. Well done to all of our children for taking part with smiles on their faces and congratulations to all in Oxford!
